Below is a list of reference designs and manufacturing activities carried out by EURATOM-HAS:

Textor, Li-beam diagnostic*, Jülich, Germany

...............

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ)

The design and the manufacturing drawings of the mirror holder for Textor Li-beam diagnostic and the support of its optics have been created. The mirror holder contains a turnable mirror and also a rotatable shutter. It has been manufactured in FZJ workshop and than installed in Textor during the summer of 2007.

JET, KY6 periscope refurbishment*, Culham, UK

..........

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with EFDA-JET

Being part of the EP2 Li-beam upgrade at JET, led by HAS, the KY6 periscope head had been redesigned according to the present need and was manufactured by a Hungarian company that meets the strict JET quality insurance requirements. The periscope head is recently under testing in a HAS laboratory.

Wendelstein 7-X, Intelligent video diagnostic*, Greifswald, Germany

....

The camera positioning, cooling and moving techniques in the Q-port tubes are under development.

HELOKA, Vacuum vessel design*, Karlsruhe, Germany

by BME-MM (EURATOM-HAS member)
in collaboration with Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe (FZK)

The design and thermal analysis of the vacuum vessel for the HELOKA project (Helium Loop Karlsruhe), that is supposed to test the cooling system of the TBM (Test Blanket Module), has been carried out. The manufacturing specification has also been created, hence the call for manufacturing will be sent out in the next few months.

ITER Test Blanket Module integration*

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with FZK and CEA

Several TBM designs will need to be tested on the ITER machine. To be able to timely exchange and test them during the lifetime of ITER, an optimized, time saving maintenance sequence was developed and proposed by HAS engineers. Several remote handling tool concept design were implemented in order to demonstrate the possibility of the maintenance operations performed by a robot arm.

ITER, Bolometer diagnostic*

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with IPP

Conceptual engineering design and feasibility study of the Bolometer camera integration in the divertor and thermal analysis of the ITER divertor Bolometer cameras are carried out.

ITER, Visible/IR wide angle viewing system*

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with CEA

HAS task includes the conceptual design of mounting, shielding and cooling of the first mirrors.

ITER, CXRS diagnostic*

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with FZJ

Design and thermal analysis of the retractable tube, carrying the first mirror and its cooling/ baking equipment, and the first mirror holder is to be carried out considering the short lifetime of the first mirror located close to the plasma.

ITER, Core LIDAR Thomson Scattering diagnostic*

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with UKAEA

The work includes the conceptual engineering design and thermal analysis of the first and second mirror holders and the optical labyrinth as well as the investigation of the BSM (Blanket Shield Module) penetration. During the design process special attention must be paid to neutron shielding and the effect of heat load especially on the mirrors.

DEMO, Blanket maintenance scheme*

by KFKI-RMKI (EURATOM-HAS coordinator)
in collaboration with FZK

Considering different size and shape of blanket structures for DEMO, a HAS engineer created different schemes for replacing all the blankets and also calculated their time requirement. The work included the conceptual design of the remote handling system that is capable to carry the huge elements.
